En route, pass through the Paro valley and the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers at Chuzom. You may also view Tamchog Lhakhang, associated with the bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. On arrival in Thimphu, check in to the hotel. Later, visit the National Memorial Chorten and enjoy an exploratory walk around Thimphu's main street and market area.

Later, drive to the restored Drukgyel Dzong, built to commemorate victory over Tibetan invaders, and visit a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse. On the way back, stop at Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan and an important landmark in the introduction of Buddhism to the region.
